This is a customer focused role based in the modern and lively Aldrich Library at the Moulsecoomb campus. Part of your time will be spent at the busy Help Desk assisting customers to access library services using the library management system and online resources; answering first level resource, IT and fines queries; dealing with returned books; and handling cash income. Other regular duties will include routine tasks such as circulation of stock, shelving and moving materials; data entry; and other activities to maintain a safe and conducive study environment.
This is a dynamic environment and to succeed you will need to be reliable, flexible, professional and enjoy learning. You should be able to work quickly and accurately with excellent communication skills. You should have a helpful confident manner, and a good working knowledge of IT. An interest in improving the student experience is also essential.
The post is full-time, fixed term until June 2019. The hours include working a Wednesday evening until 9pm each week. There will be some weekend working for which appropriate enhancements and time off in lieu is given.
