We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and personable Environmental Project Assistant (Sustainable Behaviour) to join the award winning Environment Team at the University of Brighton. The university has extremely strong environmental credentials and is currently ranked as the 7th most sustainable university in the UK in the People and Planet University League. 

Reporting to the Environmental Officer (Sustainable Behaviour and Engagement), you will assist the delivery of student and staff engagement and behaviour change projects, developing valuable skills and gaining experience working in a team of environmental professionals. 

Suitable candidates should have a broad knowledge of sustainability issues, be able to connect with people and interact on a personal level and have excellent oral and written communication skills. The preferred candidate will be able to work well in a team, be a confident communicator, organised, able to use own initiative to solve problems and possess a good degree in environmental management, environmental science or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience of environmental issues and engagement.

In addition the candidate will have experience in:

Managing small scale environmental projectsWriting social media content and communications copyWebsite management through use of content management systems such as Sharepoint, Edublogs and WordpressSupervising volunteers and/or casual staff
