This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving university and support its enterprise level IT systems and infrastructure, supporting a community of 21,600 students and 2,800 staff based on five campuses in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.

You will be technically and tactically involved in the wide ranging operational and development activities of the Core Services team. Your primary responsibilities will be to contribute to, and lead on the day-to-day operation and service improvement of core enterprise-level IT systems and services that are made up of operating system platform, infrastructure and applications. You will work on IT projects, contributing to, or acting as technical lead, in the development of new IT services and their associated infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong documentation and communication skills, as well as significant practical experience in an IT operations and development role within IT and a degree or equivalent. Evidence of training in logical analysis of abstract systems, problem determination and diagnosis is essential. You will have in-depth technical knowledge of systems and one or more applications e.g. Windows Server management (including patching management), Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Citrix, Lync, ADFS, Office 365, Citrix, Lync, scripting in PowerShell. Web services (e.g. Internet Information Server) would be an advantage.
