Description :

We are seeking a full-time postdoctoral Research Assistant in Computer Science to join the Safety of Autonomous System with Jaguar Land Rover (SAS-JLR) project between the University of Hull and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).  The project will be undertaken partly at Hull and partly at the JLR site at Gaydon near Derby.

The project will examine examples of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and software systems used in autonomous cars for potential flaws related to safety. The aim is to derive analyses and methods that could help improve safety and certification processes in the future.

The SAS-JLR project is managed by Professor Papadopoulos (PI, Computer Science) who will supervise the researcher within the Dependable Intelligent Systems (DEIS) research group. The DEIS group has a long track record in the area and will provide an assisting environment where the researcher will be able to achieve the project objectives.

You will have a PhD in the area of software safety and experience in using Model-Based Safety Analysis tools. Experience in research with bio-inspired metaheuristics is desirable.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Prof. Yiannis Papadopoulos (email: y.i.papadopoulos@hull.ac.uk)

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, including a brief statement of research interests (describing how your past experience and future plans fit with the advertised position), CV and the details of three referees as part of your online application.
