Background and Context 

Student Wellbeing, Learning and Welfare Support is part of the Student Services directorate and aims to enhance the student experience through the provision of high quality advice, guidance and support to students of the university. Comprising of a variety of teams geared to support students, the service area places student achievement, retention and experience at the core of its business and seeks to take a proactive and innovative approach to the activities offered as part of the service area.

These posts are integral to the ResLife team being able to deliver on its commitment to provide a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for students living in University of Hull accommodation.

The role is ideal for those who enjoy supporting others and helping to organise and put on events for their peers.

Successful candidates will report to the ResLife Manager and all training will be given prior to take up of the role.

This is a temporary post for approximately 11 months, however there may be additional work after this time period. The hours are flexible and will average around 6 hours per week. The post is paid at £10.13 per hour (including holiday pay at 17.65%) 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post

As a House/Hall Rep you will:

Be responsible for an allocated group of students Work with these students to deliver engaging events and activities that help to build social interaction and a sense of communitySignpost students who require additional support to the appropriate team within the universityAs a team, run regular drop in sessions for studentsKeep confidentiality at all times as this is key to student trust and respectMaintain a positive social media presence that links into the key themes of the teamBe a positive role models for the students living in our accommodationHave a flexible working approach in order to maintain core business objectivesTo apply for this role you must:Be a current student at the University of HullHave experience of living away from home for at least one academic yearBe willing and able to attend a training event in the week before arrivals (wc 10/09/18)Be willing to attend training throughout the yearHave a flexible work approachBe available to work an average of 6hrs a week
