Description :

The University of Lincoln is launching Chinese Studies in 2019. The programme will be interdisciplinary in scope and intent, and seeks to introduce students to the potentialities and possibilities of understanding China both for their future careers and for their role as global citizens in a shrinking world. A Senior Lecturer is sought with research and education expertise in Chinese History, Society and Culture, to develop, lead, and deliver the programme. The incumbent will assist the School in selecting a further staff member for the programme commencement, and will be expected to shape, lead, and grow Chinese Studies at Lincoln over the next five years. The programme will be located in History and Heritage and will be developed as part of a focus on area studies and internationalising the curriculum.

The College of Arts at the University of Lincoln seek a Senior Lecturer in any sub-field of Chinese Contemporary History (including Art History). The role includes responsibility to lead a new programme in Chinese Studies in an interdisciplinary environment. You will be located in the School of History and Heritage which has both emerging and established scholars with a reputation for research and teaching excellence. The College of Arts has further specialisation in Design, Media and Film, Architecture, Fine and Performing Arts, and Journalism. It is expected that Chinese Studies will speak to those areas of interest as it develops its core. As Senior Lecturer and inaugural Programme Chair, you will be a self-motivated team player with a strong commitment to education, innovative methods, internationalising the curriculum, and graduate outcomes. You will have an established track record in research and an ambitious approach to outreach and impact.
