Description :

The Lincoln School of Architecture and the Built Environment, College of Arts and the University share an agenda of academic excellence, which includes a world-class reputation and ranking. The School is one of six in the College of Arts and plays a dynamic role in the intellectual and cultural landscapes of the region and beyond.

The School has a collegiate, innovative and energetic atmosphere. It takes pride in the quality of its teaching, research and the student experience as a whole. Evidence of this is that the Architecture provision in the School is now ranked 7th out of 49 in the UK in the 2019 Good University Guide (The Guardian, May 2018).

The Architecture provision in the School offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with dedicated studios, classrooms, laboratories and workshops that strengthen our culture of research and scholarship. These programmes include the ARB prescribed and RIBA validated BArch (ARB/RIBA Part 1), MArch (ARB/RIBA Part 2) and Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Practice and Management (ARB/RIBA Part 3) qualifications.

The new school is now embarking on an exciting growth phase, which includes new academic programmes, at undergraduate (BSc Hons) and postgraduate (MSc) levels, in Construction Science and Management, alongside our programmes in Architecture.

In order to realise this plan, we are now recruiting a Senior Lecturer in Architecture, with demonstrated knowledge and solid experience in Professional Practice and Management, in order to support the development of innovative, high-quality teaching and research in this field. The successful candidate will also serve as Programme Leader for all courses in Professional Practice and Management. This will provide an opportunity to support the development of new, cutting edge ideas for shaping and delivering these courses. The School therefore wishes to appoint an experienced, future-oriented thinker in this field.

A Senior Lecturer is expected to have an appropriate balance of scholarship and teaching within their portfolio and to evidence potential to progress to higher levels of academic grade appointment. The successful candidate will deliver lecture and/or studio based courses in other subjects delivered in the School. S/he will also be in involved in the development and delivery of a sequence of income-generating CPD courses to professionals in Architecture and other Built Environment professions.

We are looking for an outstanding academic and/or practitioner with the vision and ability to contribute to the development of courses in Professional Practice and Management.
