The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high quality teaching for the Department’s highly successful undergraduate course in Product Design and Manufacture. If the successful candidate wishes to focus on Teaching and Learning then they will be expected to provide a major input to the teaching of the Product Design and Manufacture degree as well as contributing to other teaching and administration in the Department as appropriate.

If the successful candidate wishes to take a Research and Teaching focus then, in addition to teaching on the Product Design and Manufacture degree course, the candidate will also be expected to contribute high quality research and publications in an appropriate research area.  Candidates wishing to follow a Research and Teaching focus should have a record of high quality research and publications and teaching experience relevant to the role.

All candidates must have a degree in Product Design or a related subject and candidates wishing to follow a Research and Teaching focus must also have a PhD in a relevant discipline with excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge and experience of industrial design and manufacturing are necessary. Experience of supervising PhD and Master students and experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English speaking institution are preferable.

Salary will be within the range of GBP35,550 – GBP47,722 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance).  In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham,Ningbo, China for a period of five years starting October 2018. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
