Specialist One to One Study Skills Tutor (2 posts available, 7 hours per week) (SS5281-18-480)

We are recruiting for 2 members of part-time staff to join our busy Disability and Dyslexia Team, one based at Falmer and the other at Grand Parade. 

Working independently, you will provide support to students through hourly appointments on our Grand Parade and/or Falmer sites. Please indicate in the additional notes section of the application form which you are applying for; Grand Parade, Falmer, either or both?

You will provide Specialist one-to-one Study Skills Support for students with Specific Learning Differences (such as dyslexia) and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions to develop academic competences in accordance with the principles of Disabled Students Allowances. Study skills cannot be subject-specific tuition, however, tutors can work with a student using course materials as a framework. To promote independent learning within the wider context of Disabled Student Support.

We are particularly interested in tutors who also have knowledge of assistive technology solutions for students in the modern learning environment.  It is anticipated that each tutor will work for one day per week during university term time, but some flexibility may be required depending on student demand (e.g. at times of assessment where service demand may increase).

Please note these posts are fixed-term until September 2020.
