Description :

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull is a major contributor to the region's healthcare workforce and carries out world-leading research to tackle some of the biggest health challenges facing society.  Areas of academic and professional expertise include Medicine, Nursing and Allied Healthcare Professions, Sport Science, Biomedical Science, Psychology and Social Work.

The University has invested heavily in the Faculty of Health Sciences, with the most visible statement of the Faculty’s ambition being the Allam Medical Building, the centrepiece of the University’s £28m Health Campus. This building – opened by her Majesty the Queen in November 2017 – provides state of the art accommodation for Hull York Medical School, the Institute of Clinical and Applied Health Research and clinical skills teaching facilities for our health and social care students. As an internationally engaged anchor institution, our research and enterprise activities will provide solutions to global as well as local and regional challenges. The University is committed to expanding activities in new and innovative areas of health sciences.

The Bid Writer and Development Officer will support the Faculty to grow its enterprise capabilities in order to generate new income streams and support a wide range of activities. The post holder will report to the Faculty Director of Business Engagement and Enterprise, and will play an important role in the writing of bids and commercial proposals for enterprise related opportunities, involving private and public sector, charitable foundations and community bodies.

This is an exciting new role with responsibility, for the end-to-end project management of all new bid development opportunities. The post holder will have a proven track record in developing business cases, writing and winning bids and tenders from a variety of funding sources together with excellent writing skills, organisational skills and strong initiative, as well as the ability to work with a range of stakeholders both internal and external.  A background in health and bid writing for apprenticeships is desirable.

To discuss this role informally, please contact Fay Treloar, Director of Business Engagement and Enterprise, by e-mail at F.Treloar@hull.ac.uk
