You will be working as part of a team to provide front line IT and general software support to a wide range of users at the University.

You will provide a first line IT support service for the Faculty, through supervising the accurate, punctual and efficient operation of all desktop, Windows services, communications and other specialised equipment controlled by the FEPS IT Manager for the systems users.

The post holder performs routine support and system administration tasks as directed by the Service Support Team Leader e.g. upgrading operating systems, building standard desktop systems.

Where a fault is located, the post holder is responsible for ensuring that corrective action is taken, change control is exercised and resolution is fully documented.

You should possess good communication, interpersonal and team working skills. You must have a good knowledge of a range of software packages, especially MS Windows and Office and be familiar with setting up PCs and laptops for wired and wireless network access. Recent customer service or user support experience is useful but not essential.
