The London School of Film, Media and Design is an exciting and innovative school within the University of West London. We wish to appoint a talented and inspirational Lead Technical Demonstrator with particular expertise in knit and sew practice, who would also lead a larger general team of technical staff across a range of subjects in the School.

The role will provide clear operational leadership for the technical support team, develop our service provision, and act as an advocate of effective deployment of technical resources across the School. You will provide guidance to the technical support staff to ensure effective performance and full compliance of agreed standards of work, and legislative guidance for the safe and efficient use of technical resources. The successful applicant will contribute to the School and the University’s resource development and strategy, including budgeting, planning and project management, and contribute to the future scoping and defining of technical resource requirements and specifications for the School.

The successful applicant will work with a variety of stakeholders, including students, academic staff, technical support staff, and external customers, and will be supportive of the vision for the London School of Film, Media and Design, as well as be able to take an active role within the University and share expertise as required.

You will need to be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills and will have a creative approach to problem solving within the university’s extensive studio environments. You must have relevant qualifications and/ or significant industrial experience, a detailed understanding of technical provision in film, media and design, excellent interpersonal skills, and experience of managing and leading technical staff in a broad range of activities.
