Project and Portfolio Officer (RIIS17-04)

Available only to existing employees of Staffordshire University and agency workers currently assigned to this University through an employment agency.

Staffordshire University has recently secured £8 million of OfS Catalyst funding and is delivering a £40 million estates development which will include the part OfS-funded Apprenticeship and Digital Skills Hub and an additional development which will house a new library, social learning spaces, cafes and a restaurant.  Additional funds have also been secured to enhance this provision – LEP Skills Equipment Fund (£760K) and OfS Catalyst fund - Materials Science and Technology (£200K).

We are seeking to appoint an experienced project manager who will support the Head of Project Delivery in RIIS and Project Director overseeing the £40 million project in co-ordinating day to day activities and tracking the delivery of key objectives stated in the Apprenticeship and Digital Skills Hub and the other associated projects as detailed above.  

You will work in collaboration with the project leads, ensuring that realistic project plans are developed and maintained and that regular and accurate communication is provided to the all parties. You will identify, assess and highlight risks to ensure the successful delivery of the projects and take appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances and ensure that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets.
