Following recognition of our excellent research in REF 2014, sector-leading student satisfaction in the 2016 NSS (UK number 1 in 4 programmes) and strong undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment, we are seeking to make a further appointment at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level to expand our expertise in the area of Biomedical Science. This post will support delivery of teaching at all undergraduate levels across a range of programmes. We are seeking a candidate who:

Has a strong academic profile related to Biomedical Biochemistry. We would particularly welcome applicants with experience in Pharmacology and Toxicology relevant to Biomedical Science.Will engage in pure and/or applied research which will complement existing strengths within the School. The successful candidate would be expected to join the Diabetes, Metabolism and Inflammation; Cancer and Ageing or Microbiology and Biotechnology research groups.Is an excellent communicator who will complement the School’s existing teaching.  In particular, we are seeking someone who will support teaching both in specialist subject modules and across the wider Biomedical Science curriculum.Will work closely with other members of staff within the School of Life Sciences as well as external partners.
