Student Support Services is pleased to announce the availability of Deputy Warden roles in the Wardening team. The first two roles are based at Stag Hill / Manor Park and are fixed term with an initial duration of one year, renewable for a further two years. A further role at Hazel Farm is a one year non-renewable maternity cover opportunity. Applications are invited from members of staff of the University. Comfortable accommodation is provided and a small additional responsibility allowance is also payable. An opportunity to view the accommodation provided can be arranged.

Deputy Wardens play a very significant role in student residential support and overall student life experience by providing effective support to students and maintaining good order. Deputy Wardens work in parallel with Student Life Mentors in particular, helping to resolve difficult issues which affect the welfare of residents. The time commitment is mostly in the evenings and certain weekends, and varies over the year as students settle in. You will work as part of a team on a rota basis, the Job Purpose for the role provides further details regarding the responsibilities and requirements of the role.

The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate very high level of communication, student service and problem solving skills, combined with a good knowledge of issues affecting student residential life and a demonstrated commitment to improving the student experience.
