As part of our ongoing commitment to working with children and young people, the Widening Participation team is seeking an outstanding individual to join us as Outreach Officer (Primary Schools).

Across our programmes, we provide engaging and innovative learning experiences for all age groups from 5 – 11. The aim of our work is to raise pupils’ aspirations to and awareness of University as a possibility for their future, as well as to enhance and enrich the curriculum.

The post holder will work with colleagues to develop and deliver high quality projects and learning activities across a range of programmes. This will take place in schools, on University campuses and in local community learning centres. This will also include collecting, collating and processing evaluation data relating to these programmes. Activities will support the curriculum and University and local primary school priorities.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will have experience of designing and delivering engaging learning activities to young people.

The role will involve occasional evening and weekend work.

This full-time (36.25 hours per week) post will be offered on a fixed-term basis until 31st July 2019.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 16th October.

It is a condition of this post that a satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’. This will be carried out by the University upon appointment.
