The School of Computing and Engineering at the University of West London is a dynamic and forward looking School with high quality teaching, student experience and research informed teaching at the top of its priority list. The post holder will contribute significantly to research, enterprise development and commercial training in the area of applications of Ground Penetrating Radar and other Non-destructive testing methods mainly in Environmental and Soil Engineering (trees and soil-tree roots interaction). The successful candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including supervision of final year projects. In addition, the successful individual will contribute to new research fundraising activities of the School and will assist the Head of School and the School’s Head of Research and Enterprise in the developing School’s research and enterprise activities.

Candidates with strong numerical and mathematical modelling background in electromagnetic wave propagation and geophysics are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field with a demonstrable track record of research within the field and also hold a recognised teaching qualification for Higher Education. For successful applicants without relevant teaching qualifications then they will join the UWL Academic Professional degree apprenticeship scheme supporting the UK government’s commitment to up skill the UK workforce.
