The Nanoscale and Microscale Research Centre (nmRC) at the University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Centre Manager for the co-ordinated and strategic management of staff, operations, research and business activity within the nmRC. The role holder will be responsible for developing and implementing nmRC activities and projects to deliver against the strategic vision of the nmRC and ensure alignment with UoN’s strategic and operational requirements.

Excellent communication skills with experience in supervising individual researchers or leading / managing research teams is required along with financial and operational management, strategic and business planning skills.Key responsibilities will include developing and managing the Centre’s business strategy and outputs, personnel management and contributing to the successful strategic and operational management of the nmRC. In-depth knowledge and experience of nanoscale characterisation techniques is desirable but not essential.

This is a maternity cover post which is offered on a fixed-term basis for a period of 12 months, available from 12 November 2018. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week), however job share arrangements may be considered. For further details please see the full role profile.
