INTERNAL VACANCY

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.

An opportunity has arisen within the second year of the Digital Research Environment Strategy for a Senior Research Librarian to lead on the development of the Research Data Management strand of the programme.  This is an exciting opportunity for the suitable candidate to build on the work that has already been started, and provide researchers with new services to enable effective management of research data, including support for data management planning, working with sensitive data and archiving data for sharing and re-use.

A key aspect of this role will be communicating and engaging with Faculties and researchers about the new services being rolled out, to ensure that we fully embed the new suite of technologies into our ways of working.  It is essential therefore that the successful candidate has the qualities and credibility to talk and engage with researchers at all levels, as well as establish a sustainable service support model for researchers in the future.

Excellent organisation, communication and management experience is therefore essential to this role, as is the ability to prioritise work alongside the other strands of this programme. Experience of working within a project environment is preferable.

This is a fixed term, full time secondment available until 31st July 2019. Job share arrangements may be considered.

‘Requests for secondment from internal candidates will be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.’

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Jennifer Rochfort, tel: 0115 7486273 or email Jennifer.Rochfort@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
