About You

An enthusiastic and professional researcher, you will have experience of conducting research and undertaking quantitative data analysis. A Degree in a relevant subject is essential along with knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.

To be successful you will demonstrate flexibility along with the ability to work independently and build effective working relationships at all levels. You will also be highly organised with strong prioritisation skills enabling you to ensure that deadlines are met.

About the Role 

You will provide high quality research support on a project funded by Edge Hill University. This research will investigate relationships between the way in which students studying for their GCSE maths exam (i) interpret messages about the exam given by their teacher, (ii) anticipate feeling joy, hope, anxiety and hopelessness prior to their exam, (iii) engage in their maths lessons, and (iv) perform in the exam itself. Differences in these factors and how they relate between students from average/high and low socioeconomic status (SES) backgrounds will also be explored.
