Description :

The Engagement and Retention Service at the University of West London aims to enhance student engagement, retention and success.

The Student Engagement Advisors work across the University in close coordination with academic Schools to ensure that students are provided with timely and effective academic support. The Student Engagement Service activities are developed with the varied and diverse needs of students in mind.

The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the delivery of an effective Engagement and Retention Service by supporting students who: require Maths or IT Support to meet their academic demands and by reaching out to students who are identified as being at risk of non-progression.

Maths, numeracy, stats and IT guidance will be delivered mainly through 1:1 meetings, workshops and group sessions.

From a retention perspective responsibilities include reaching out to students who seem to be at risk of non-progression and meeting with students to identify their needs and offer maths and IT support, if required.

Responsibilities also include providing administrative support to the Engagement and Retention Service Manager.

The candidate will require an excellent understanding of Maths and IT and have an ability to guide and support students who meet challenges in these areas when studying. They will also need to be comfortable when reaching out to students and willing to offer guidance and support.

Please be advised that it is expected that appointment within a grade will normally be at the minimum point.
