The School of Computing and Digital Technology (CDT) is seeking to appoint 4 undergraduate or postgraduate students to undertake a 2.5 months’ work placement to support its activities in the Enterprise Systems Centre Innovation Engine Project. The successful candidate will have completed year two of a relevant degree with appropriate content to the role specification. The post will involve a range of activities specifically assisting the Principle Investigator in the delivery of Innovation Engine outputs for the University, working with industry partners and the consortium to carry out research, and design and develop prototype solutions where applicable. The position will also support Enterprise Systems’ research in systems engineering, digital technologies and innovation, developing and disseminating research outputs both internally to CDT students within curriculum development and externally, for example Innovation Fest, conferences, open days and applicant visit days. The position will involve flexible working as required, including evenings and weekends. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be a student on a programme of study that is specific to the subject area, although students from other CDT programmes who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge are welcome to apply. Strong technical, communication, problem solving and presentation skills will be advantageous for this role. A presentation will be required as part of the selection process.
