Meanwhile businesses of all types need to use these technologies in order to innovate and stay competitive. This role provides a great opportunity for you to help connect these communities for mutual benefit. Job Purpose: This post supports the University strategy to deliver effective business engagement, promoting technological products and services on behalf of the Faculty of Computing, Engineering & the Built Environment.   A key aspect of this role is to profile andtargethigh-valueSMEs who have the propensity to become clients of the University, and likely to be associated with access to student, graduate talent/employment; work placements; student project work, higher degree apprenticeships, research, consultancy, and identify businesses that require bespoke strategic projects aligned to InnovateUK’ funding platforms such as the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme.   Main Activities & Responsibilities: .       Liaising with the research and academic teams within CEBE to develop and maintain an understanding of the key technologies and services that they offer ·       Undertaking specific business engagement activities aligned to the products and services of the Faculty ·       Working to agreed and demanding targets for initial contact, and subsequent conversion ·       A primary focus will be on identifying leads with high-value SMEs, and larger companies (when opportunities arise), with specific focus on promoting the opportunities presented by the Faculty ·       Become a key representative for the University and Faculty at B2B events, networks, and meetings, making presentations and undertaking profile-raising work   Evidence of: ·       Knowledge of or experience in of least one of the following technologies: computing, manufacturing, construction, Building Information Management systems (BIM) or similar ·       Preferably experience of business development in one or more of the above advanced technology areas ·       Awareness of potential academic or business/commercial challenges arising from working with academics and external organisations ·       Experience of Higher Education, Local Government, Development Agency or similar organisation and sectors ·       A committed team-worker with excellent interpersonal, communication and client liaison skills ·       Ability to coordinate, prioritise and finish tasks ·       Flexible approach   Person Specification: ·       A Degree in a Technical discipline such as: Computing, Engineering or other Technology ·       Preferably a Master’s or other training in Business or Marketing ·       Be a quick learner or willing to learn   Special Knowledge (an advantage): ·       InnovateUK’ funding platform, particularly Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) ·       Awareness of current trends in knowledge transfer project management
