We invite applications* to join our team in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. The role will involve delivery of our Quantity Surveying programmes. Expertise related to construction economics, quantification or commercial management for buildings is particularly welcome. Individuals must be capable of teaching and undertaking research and enterprise aligned to the activities of the school and candidates from professional practice and / or those that intersect related disciplines are also welcome.
You will join a strong school-wide team delivering a broad range of successful, professionally accredited, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a well-equipped, purpose-built, facility. We work in a collaborative and cross disciplinary culture interacting freely across the school generating a unique insight into impactful problem domains. We are a practice-based school, making our teaching and research relevant to the evolving world around us.
You will be responsible for:
teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
pursuing research leading to high quality publications
seeking external funding for research
supervising higher degree students
contributing to curriculum development.
addressing the pastoral needs of students
participating in academic-related administration.
You should have:
a good first degree and post-graduate degree in the subject (or related discipline)**
recent industry or equivalent academic experience including professional institution membership
the potential to develop and sustain externally funded research work
the potential or track record of publishing in high quality refereed journals
the ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students
the ability to build collaborative internal and external relationships
excellent communication skills and experience of successfully working as part of a team.
