The National Centre for Food Manufacturing requires a Technician (Food Product Innovation) to assist with trials and research projects to support our product innovation services to business which includes new product and process development, consumer insight and sustainability. Ideally you will have a strong background in product innovation and development within the food industry and have a keen interest in sensory science. The post holder will also support the teaching of practical NPD skills and knowledge to students and also assist in ensuring the smooth running of our food chemistry and food microbiology laboratories along with the food factory training and research centre. As a member of the Food Insights and Sustainability (FISS) project team, the post holder will support the success of FISS which links sensory and consumer science to NPD practice in innovative ways. 

A satellite campus of the University of Lincoln, The National Centre for Food Manufacturing is a major resource for the UK’s food industry with over 250 major companies accessing courses, technical services and research.  Our clients include the major national and global food manufacturing businesses and leading supermarkets and we collaborate with many international partners and universities. The NCFM has outstanding sector-focused facilities, including a state-of-the-art food factory demonstrating cutting edge food automation. 

All of NCFM’s students are employed in the food industry and study on a part-time basis, with distance learning supported by block release the platform for delivery. The post holder will provide technician support for teaching and research, supporting the delivery of research projects and practical trials.

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2.
