The University of Lincoln is seeking an experienced development professional to lead its fundraising and alumni relations at an exciting time in its history.

The University is a TEF Gold institution, ranked 22nd in the 2018 Guardian University Guide. It is an ambitious and dynamic organisation which prides itself on deep engagement with employers and its local communities, and thought-leadership within the UK HE sector.

The Head of Development and Alumni Relations will lead the University’s alumni and development team. Working closely with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (External Relations), the successful candidate will develop and implement an enhanced alumni relations programme, and will lead fundraising for the University, focussing initially on the new Lincoln Medical School, a transformational project for the University, city and region. The successful candidate will be a member of the leadership team in the Communications, Development and Marketing (CDM) office, reporting to the Director of CDM.

The successful candidate will have a proven track-record of fundraising and alumni relations, preferably in the HE sector, including direct experience of raising significant gifts from individuals (lifetime gifts and legacies), corporates, trusts and foundations. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at a senior level with University leaders, donors and friends, and will display excellent communication and inter-personal skills, diplomacy, tact and self-awareness. Drive, determination and resilience are essential qualities for success in this role.
