Description :

Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is a quadruple-accredited, world-ranked management school, consistently among the UK’s top ten.

The LUMS Careers Team was established over 10 years ago and is heavily used by our career-focused students. The service the LUMS Careers Team provides is central to the student experience and the role of Careers Coach is a crucial aspect of our service.

You will be working closely with the Undergraduate Office and key academic colleagues to provide a bespoke careers education, information, advice and guidance service to diverse cohorts of undergraduates studying Business and Management degrees. You will work as part of the LUMS Careers Team to ensure consistency in approach, and to confidently design, deliver and assess innovative undergraduate careers education both in the classroom and through e-learning, both as development activities and as part of accredited provision.

You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to prioritise a demanding and varied workload. Interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders are essential as you will engage with employers and work closely with departmental academic colleagues to ensure a differentiated approach to careers and employability.

Educated to degree level, ideally you will hold a relevant postgraduate careers guidance qualification or extensive industry experience. You will have an innovative, engaging and effective professional approach. Your previous experience will have equipped you for adapting flexibly to this role and you will be someone who thrives on change and seeks new challenges.

This role is a part-time, indefinite post, 15 hours per week and may involve occasional out of hours working/travel within the UK.

Please direct informal enquiries to Matthew Howard, Undergraduate Careers Adviser, m.j.howard@lancaster.ac.uk
