The Department of Design and Engineering at Staffordshire University is pleased to announce the recruitment of a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Transport Engineering to join our recently established department within the School of Creative Arts and Engineering. This recruitment is central to our ambitious expansion plans working with the Ministry of Defense (MoD) and hence helping us deliver against the University’s vision and beyond. 

Engineering at Staffordshire University has a well-established reputation for providing an innovative portfolio which includes Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and commercial courses. We wish to complement our existing, experienced and very successful academic team with a suitably experienced, enthusiastic and motivated candidate seeking to further their career in Higher Education.

As an established Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and subject expert in aeronautical engineering and engineering management, you will be expected to contribute to the University’s research outputs in the areas of aeronautical engineering and/or engineering management. Your expertise will be essential for the delivery and the development of distance learning transport engineering-based awards as part of our Foundation, top-up Bachelor, and Master’s degrees for which you will be the Course Leader (criteria for the Senior Lecturer post). You will teach and assess students (Some will be armed forces personnel) across a range of levels and courses. We will also look for you to help shape our teaching and learning strategies to explicitly enhance the student experience through the use of digital technology.


You must be an enthusiastic, reliable and resourceful academic with ambition to undertake research, consultancy and income generating activities. You must be educated to masters (preferably doctoral) or equivalent level professional qualification in Aeronautical Engineering or allied subjects.
