Following a competitive tender process the school has also been chosen by the BBC to deliver Broadcast Engineering courses to all of their technology apprentices at undergraduate level and their graduate trainees at MSc level. The school has a long history of teaching multimedia and sound courses supported by world leading research within the DMTLab. Birmingham City University has a vibrant sound and music culture supported by the extensive facilities in the newly built Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Ideally we are looking for an industry practitioner who also has extensive teaching experience on sound recording and acoustics modules at degree level. What do we want: Essential: Educated to degree level in a Sound Engineering related discipline. Industry experience particularly in sound recording. Experience of teaching Sound Recording and Acoustics at degree level Knowledge of building and environmental acoustics Desirable: Experience of managing and delivery of industrial or academic projects, Well networked in the sound recording field, Knowledge of live sound engineering What they would need to do: Play a leading role in the development and delivery of technical modules and industry relevant learning activities on our BSc Sound Engineering and Music Technology courses. Support student projects and tutoring For exceptional candidates we would consider a flexible working arrangement to allow continuing industry engagement where this is aligned to university requirements.
