The department welcomes applications in all areas of finance. Significant reductions in teaching duties over the first years may apply for exceptional candidates.

You should have a Ph.D. in Finance or a related discipline or should be expected to complete your Ph.D. in the near future. Depending on qualifications and experience, you may be appointed at the lecturer (assistant professor) or senior lecturer (associate professor) level. Candidates for lecturer (assistant professor) positions should be able to pursue their own independent research and develop publications in high quality and top finance journals and should be able to deliver excellent teaching in both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates for senior lecturer (associate professor) positions should be independent researchers with a track-record of publications in top finance journals (e.g., Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial studies) and evidence of teaching excellence. Lecturer (assistant professor) positions carry a typical total salary package of up to £60,000 per annum. Senior lecturer (associate professor) positions carry a typical total salary package of up to £70,000 per annum. In exceptional circumstances, for both level of positions, it may be possible to offer an additional supplement. Any such supplement would be awarded on the basis of a demonstrable record of exceptional achievement and is entirely at the discretion of the University.
