This is an exciting opportunity for a Chemical or Process Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in partnership with Teledyne e2v’s RF Power Division in Chelmsford, to develop innovative, world-leading, high power industrial microwave generators for large scale microwave processing and to maximise the business opportunities that commercially benefit from their use. The successful candidate will work across a number of exciting projects and opportunities across sectors as diverse as steelmaking, nuclear, food, catalysis and energy.

The company’s main business activity is the design and manufacture of electronic components and sub-systems, providing energy sources and sensors to deliver solutions for medical, science, aerospace, defence, commercial and industrial markets. Teledyne e2v has partnered with the University of Nottingham on this commercially driven project which supports the company’s strategy to develop innovative, world leading high power industrial microwave generators for large scale microwave processing. We are seeking applications from high quality people whose backgrounds, experience and identity broadens and enhances the diversity of our existing team. The successful candidate should possess:

Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical or Process Engineering, or relevant discipline. PhD, EngD or equivalent in a relevant subject and/or industrial experience is desirableWritten and verbal communication should be clear with the ability to communicate complex information with clarityEnthusiasm, motivation and drive to embed new knowledge and to take full ownership of the project in all respects

We are seeking innovative thinkers from a broad range of experiences and backgrounds. You should be interested in working closely with industry as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team to deliver commercial solutions to industry. Significant training and support will be offered to help you develop any new skills required. There is a £5,600 training budget tailored towards your personal development.

This full-time post is available immediately and will be offered on fixed-term basis for a period of 34 months.
