iSolutions, part of University of Southampton, are currently looking for an Oracle Applications Maintenance Specialist to join our dynamic and rapidly evolving Applications Development (Banner) team based in our offices in Southampton city centre.  The role is permanent and involves a broad variety of work supporting and updating the University’s Student Administration system, Ellucian Banner (www.ellucian.com). For the successful candidate, we offer programmes of continuous training in the latest technologies.

To be successful, you will demonstrate the ability to work to high standards within a team of highly motivated individuals who are committed to achieving deadlines and customer satisfaction.  Strong communication skills will also be key for working with other teams within iSolutions, University staff across the campus, students and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:

Working with Applications Manager and senior colleagues to establish a continuous delivery approach to software updates, patching and deployment;Providing support for the various development and production environments, to include installation, configuration, deployment and maintenance and performance testing; Becoming a technical authority for the Banner database application, providing support and resolving technical issues as part of a customer focused team.

You will have an Oracle background with demonstrable skills supporting applications in some or all of the following:

Database and application performance tuning; Oracle WebLogic;System security and access management;Fault diagnosis and resolution.

You will demonstrable the following abilities:

Applying tenacity and drive to troubleshoot complex issues;Working with colleagues to solve technical problems;Working with other teams to understand their needs.
