We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher in the field of electronics to work on the design, assembly and characterisation of integrated electronic and silicon photonic devices.

The project, which is backed by industrial funding, will be supervised by Professor Graham Reed and Dr David Thomson who have a strong, internationally renowned track record in silicon photonics, and will involve significant interaction with the industry team. The successful candidate will join a team of over 40 researchers focusing on the field of Silicon Photonics, based in the Zepler Institute for Photonics and Nanoelectronics, University of Southampton, UK. 

Experience in electronic IC and PCB design is essential for this role. It is expected that the candidate will hold a PhD* or equivalent qualification related to electronics or photonics. 

The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

*Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

The post will be for up to 1 year in duration.
