In the School of Health Science, we have an opportunity for a Computer Science Research Fellow to work with movement scientists on a home-based falls identification programme. The researcher will based at Southampton University Hospital and will join a small multidisciplinary group working on a SPHERE clinical project.

We are seeking a computer scientist with previous research experience of movement capture through digital video and body-worn sensors to work with the SPHERE Health team in Southampton. This role will contribute to the design and implementation of data analytics and machine learning solutions for healthcare. The ideal candidate is somebody who has a computer engineering science background,  good programming and signal processing skills. The post holder must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team and therefore be skilled in communicating with and working alongside non-computer specialists.

The work is funded by EPSRC and is conducted in collaboration with Bristol and Reading Universities.  SPHERE is led by Professor Ian Craddock at the University of Bristol.  At Southampton, the Senior Research Fellow is Dr Dorit Kunkel.
