The Department of Chemistry enjoys an outstanding reputation for the quality of its teaching, student employability and research. The Department was recently rated 7th nationally in the Guardian League Table and had an overall satisfaction rating of over 92% in the last National Student Survey. The Department is well equipped, has modern, recently renovated laboratories and has excellent technical support.

The role will entail the planning, resourcing and execution of a distinctive leading-edge research programme in inorganic chemistry. The candidate should also be able to teach core inorganic chemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate level and provide some teaching in related areas.  S/he may also be required to contribute to the teaching of a wide range of skills modules, to be involved in the design and running of chemistry practical classes and workshops, to supervise undergraduate laboratory projects, and be involved in outreach activities.

The candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, be able to demonstrate a good record of academic and/or industrial leadership and achievement in scholarship and research. S/he will show evidence of high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
