An exciting opportunity has arisen in our fast-paced Estates & Facilities Management department, for an experienced and proficient Administrator to work as part of a team providing professional and detailed support to the department.   You will be expected to communicate with all personnel within E&FM and staff of all levels from all departments and Faculties across the University, as well as dealing with external visitors and contractors. The ability to communicate with people both from within and outside the University is a major part of this role and strong communication skills will add to the customers’ perceived quality of the service provided.  Good levels of accuracy are required in carrying out the work of the department.   You will have strong administrative experience and working with helpdesk systems. Previous prior helpdesk experience would be beneficial with the ability to prioritise, determine levels of urgency, negotiating, influencing and dealing with a broad range of stakeholders.   Experience and working knowledge of Facilities Management systems (CAFM) is desirable as well as robust knowledge of technical Facilities language and jargon.   Working as part of a team the administrator function is the single point of contact for all E&FM services and is essential in providing a successful E&FM operation within the University.   The opening hours of the helpdesk are 07:00 – 18:00 (Monday to Friday). The post holder must be available to work any shift allocated during these opening hours and to be flexible in covering colleagues’ absences. The role will also require occasional weekend work to cover key University events including Open Days.   The University of Surrey is amongst the highest achieving universities in the United Kingdom, having been awarded the Times/ Sunday Times University of the Year Award for 2016.
