Evaluation and Data Officer (078518)

An opportunity has arisen for a full time appointment in the Division of the VP (Education and Students), working in the Widening Participation and Outreach Department (WP&O).

The post holder will be responsible for evaluating our outreach activity with schools and colleges and supporting the Research and Evaluation Manager of WP&O in a diverse, busy environment.  The post-holder will be responsible for evaluating outreach activities using a variety of evaluation methodologies to measure the impact of activities on student aspirations and attainment. The role requires experience of using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including questionnaire design and analysing data to produce reports.  Knowledge of Widening Participation policy and practice is desirable.

WP&O works externally to maintain a high profile for the University of Surrey by building partnerships with schools, colleges, businesses and university partners, through a range of strategically agreed projects and activities.  Internally WP&O works with central and faculty based managers and their staff in order to provide coherence and direction across the University, ensuring the delivery of the University’s Access and Participation Plan.

The Department provides information, advice and guidance to key influencers, including parents and teachers, whilst providing specific targeted initiatives and wider engagement to raise the attainment and aspirations of school and college students across a range of age groups.

The Evaluation and Data Officer will be located centrally within the WP&O Department, reporting to the WP&O Research and Evaluation Manager.
