The Department of Music and Media is currently seeking a pro-active, self-motivated and highly organised administrator to support the Head of Department and staff. The Department includes the Universities highly ranked Music, Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister), Creative Music Technology, Digital Media Arts and Film and Video Production Technology programmes, and has an active, world-leading research profile.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain experience within a large, dynamic organisation. The post holder is expected to provide a full and effective administrative support to Department activities. Working in a busy, people focused environment, this post will act as a key point of contact for academic staff and visitors and must be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service.

Possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will have previous experience of working in an administrative environment and ideally experience of working in the Higher Education Sector. You will demonstrate good IT skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure.  Excellent inter-personal skills and a pro-active approach are essential, together with accuracy and a keen eye for detail.  Experience of MS Outlook and minute-taking would be an advantage.

The School Administrator will provide effective administrative support for the Head of Music and Media and manage enquiries and source information effectively in their absence.
