We are renowned for our emphasis on courses that prepare students for careers in professional practice within and outside of the legal profession.   We are a diverse academic community of staff, and we deliver a range of academic and professional qualifications supporting around 1,200 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The School enjoys close links with law firms, businesses and advisory services throughout the region and internationally. We boast a national reputation for providing excellent opportunities for our students in clinical legal education and supporting them to undertake mooting, debating, and applied research opportunities. We have a vibrant research community, with three research centres – The Centre for American Legal Studies, Centre for Human Rights, and Centre for Law, Science, and Policy – and a growing PhD community.  Academics and students are supported to collaborate on research initiatives, and we are planning to submit to REF2021, following our successful REF2014 submission. We are proud to deliver high quality legal education and training both in the UK and overseas and we are confident in the future growth of knowledge exchange in the School of Law. Located in the heart of the City of Birmingham we have state of the art teaching facilities and offer a dynamic environment for our students and staff. We are looking to recruit two lecturers in law and will expect successful candidates to: Teach on a range of law courses and subjects as required, currently we are looking for academics who can teach at least two of the following areas: contract, tort, criminal law, constitutional & administrative law and equity & trusts Contribute towards curriculum development work and updating of course materials where appropriate Mark assessments as appropriate Provide pastoral support and guidance to relevant students Contribute towards knowledge exchange in the school Candidates who possess relevant practice experience or qualifications and can contribute to our professional law courses are encouraged to apply.
