Description :

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have an established background in the computational modelling of multiphase flows? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?

We are looking for a Research Fellow to join our project, working on the development and application of direct numerical simulation and interface tracking techniques for predicting multi-phase flows of relevance to nuclear waste management applications. The project will involve application of these techniques to study the impact of behavioural modification techniques, implemented using additives, on particle-laden flows to enable improved flow, mixing and separation of wastes during processing activities.

The consortium is funded by the EPSRC and eight key industry partners to a total project value of £9.4M, and comprises those industry partners and leading academic researchers from eleven research intensive universities with significant expertise in nuclear research and development. The research proposed is multi-disciplinary and covers fundamental and applied topics, including 40 research projects clustered into 4 technical themes. The consortium is made up of established researchers from a diverse range of backgrounds, who are all leaders in their field, with a track-record of innovation and problem solving in the nuclear area. It also comprises many early career researchers who have relevant nuclear-related expertise.
