You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will join the existing H&S team. Reporting to the Director of H&S you will lead on delivering expert H&S advice and strategic direction in relation to chemical and radiation safety. In addition, you will provide general health & safety support and advice to staff and students on a wide range of topics, with the mission of supporting a positive safety culture.

You will be a hands-on, pragmatic, people-orientated individual, with demonstrable influencing skills. You will be a team player with the ability to engage collaboratively with staff at different levels, organise your own time effectively and have a flexible approach as the work demands can change. 

You should hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, an equivalent qualification or have the relevant experience. You should have significant experience in similar or related roles in scientific and research environments. Previous experience in a Higher Education environment is desirable but not essential. 

This is a full time permanent opportunity though part-time hours may be a considered, minimum 30 hours per week.
