Enabling Multi-Scale Biomolecular Simulations on High-End Computing Resources

Motivated and talented researchers are invited to apply for a research fellow position in computational chemistry at the University of Southampton. The post-holder will work within the research group led by the Professor of Computational Biophysics to work on an EPSRC-funded  project to work develop tools and models to enable multiscale biomolecular simulation on high-end computing resources such as the UK national facility, ARCHER. The focus will be on biological membranes in the first instance. The project is a collaborative endeavour with the members of the HECBiosim Consortium, and as such will involve joint projects with other groups within the UK at times.

Applicants should have or be about to obtain a PhD in computational chemistry, biophysics or a related discipline. The posts require a background in biomolecular simulation, with experience of using high-end computing resources, as well as some programming skills. Applications should include a CV and covering letter explaining interest and suitability for the position. The role is available for 36 months.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
