RIS is a busy central office providing expert knowledge, advice and encouragement to all research-active staff within the University of Bath.

Applications are invited from graduates, or equivalent with relevant Pre-Award experience, for a part-time (0.7fte), fixed-term post. The post will report to the Pre-Award Manager and will be part of the Pre-Award team, which provides administrative support for all externally funded research applications and awards.  Although based in the Pre-Award team, the post-holder will also be expected to work closely with the Research Development Managers within the Research Grant Development team, as well as other teams within RIS and across the University.  The post-holder will help to develop and coordinate research funding bids; will provide advice to academic researchers on University and specific funders’ policies and procedures; review, process and submit research proposals; and check and process research awards.

Applicants will have research support administration experience including knowledge of Research Council and Innovate UK funding, full economic costing (including experience of using a research costing tool eg Agresso), and an understanding of issues relating to research within HEIs.  Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines are also required.

This is a fixed term position covering a secondment until April 2019 or the early return of the post holder.
