Technical Assistant - 3D Print & Laser (TS18-10)

In Technical Services at Staffordshire University we are looking for a brilliant and friendly individual to join the Smart Technology team and front the new Digital Shed, a 3D Print Bureau maker space which houses technical resources such as 3D printers, milling machines and laser cutters. The role is part-time, working 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE), working Monday to Thursday.  

Good knowledge of software such as Solidworks and Adobe CC, specifically Illustrator and reverse engineering scans and models. 

The person sought must have a flexible and innovative approach to supporting the technical service requirements which includes student facing support, systems maintenance, research into new or applicable technologies and the ability to develop skills in new areas. The role holder will be required to provide an excellent level of customer service with strong people support skills and with the ability to ensure that deadlines are met. 

This role will involve working between midday and eight pm, four days a week during academic term time. Outside of traditional term time, the role holder will be required to work core 9-5 business hours on the same 0.8 FTE basis.
