The University of Brighton is looking to recruit an Events and Office Assistant to work within its Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement department. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of departmental wide services thereby helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy and varied customer facing working environment. 

Two particular areas of focus will be providing administrative support for events (with the post providing dedicated assistance to any colleague in the department organising an event) and administering alumni engagement activity, such as volunteering.

The successful applicant will be resourceful, proactive and reliable. You will possess exceptional capacity for accuracy and attention to detail, be able to keep a cool head under pressure and think on your feet. Experience working in a busy office environment is essential, as are very strong IT skills, including familiarity with advanced functions of MS Excel and MS Word and working with databases. Previous experience of working in an educational, charity or membership environment is desirable.

The post-holder will be expected to attend events that may take place during the evening or at weekends and for which time off in lieu will be given.

This is a part time, permanent, internal post and we are happy to receive applications from those candidates wishing to job share.
