Institutional Manager for Learning Technology Systems - Fixed Term Maternity Cover (ExP003)

The School of Higher Education Research and Development, known as the ExPERT Academy is a vital new school delivering online and face to face programmes to develop academic staff skills in all aspects of curriculum design, learning and teaching and pedagogic research.

The 12 strong team of academics, technical support and administrative staff is highly productive and extremely technologically literate. Playing a central role in helping UWL to rise further up the league tables, we are represented on all major committees and work closely with the Schools/Colleges and Professional service departments in the organisation.

This fixed term post is cover for our current manager who is on maternity leave. The post holder will be responsible for all the institutional learning technology systems and will line manage the learning systems support officer who manages our triage system.

You will ensure that all systems are properly managed, maintained and administered, working with both academic and professional colleagues, particularly those in IT. In addition, this post arises at a critical time and you will take a lead role in managing the transition from externally hosted Blackboard to Blackboard SaaS and Ultra. You will work closely with our academic/technical team to design, deliver and meet our training needs in this regard.

You will be highly experienced in managing learning technology systems, have extensive experience of managing a VLE and supporting users and have a track record of successful project management and delivery. You will have high level skills in managing learning technologies, their integration with existing technologies and their documentation and be able to work extremely effectively in a close knit team.
