Description :

The Library and Learning Support Service in the University of Surrey is looking for a talented, imaginative and focused person to join our team and help us ensure the best possible service to our students and academic community. You will help senior managers and practitioners outline requirements, understand and document processes for current and potential future approaches and work closely with our internal IT department and the vendors who provide our various IT solutions.

The Library is always a unique challenge to IT in any university as we automated early and have very specific requirements; but the rest of the institution is catching up and at times surpassing the services we have built ourselves or bought into. This role will be responsible for looking across our systems landscape, and the horizon scan of projects that we have identified and see how we can move forward.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, will have some experience of process review and a real interest in the use of technology to enhance higher education and by extension libraries.

If you are looking for a fulfilling and challenging role working with a mix of people across different parts of an institution then this is a role that you should consider. For an informal chat or if you have any further questions on the role please contact f.greig@surrey.ac.uk.
