We are looking for practice-focused academic for a part-time, fixed term (0.4) role, with experience of teaching the core skills and knowledge required for contemporary of Film, Television and Media production. The role focuses on students at all levels across integrated degree courses: BA (Hons) Digital Film, BA (Hons) Film and Screen Studies and BA (Hons) Media Production. A background in, and links to, industry would be highly desirable along with a highly attuned understanding of transformation of dynamics of digital culture and their practical effects on industry, now and in the future. Skills and knowledge in pre-production, production management and post-production are central, as is experience in teaching undergraduate students from a variety of backgrounds and possessing a range of abilities.

Core elements of the role include:

To add to and expand the student-focused teaching expertise in the areas of film and media productionTo contribute to practice teaching on a range of practice modules within the School of Media (which may include): Filmmaking Fundamentals, Production Management, Work Placement and Professional Practice, Making the Short Film, Editing.To be able to translate key skills and knowledge of industry practice to a diverse student cohort.To be adept at teaching technical aspects of production using relevant technology, to foster organisational skills around production management, and to nurture creativity and artistic flair.

We would envisage a start date of February 2019 and this post is fixed term until August 2019.
