Description :

This role provides an exciting opportunity to produce high quality video content for the University of West London’s website, social media channels, and on-campus screens, with a focus on content promoting the university to prospective students.

The role sits within the Digital Team, which manages content for the university’s website – the first window on the university for many – making this a key area of work. As demand for online video has grown significantly in recent years, the role has been newly-established to cater to this demand.

The post-holder will have video editing skills and be able to produce video content in-house, as well as working with freelance staff and video production companies on high-volume video projects. Ability to propose creative approaches, write and edit scripts, manage production schedules, and see video projects right through to online publication and promotion, are all essential.

You will have a good understanding of how video content is consumed online and be able to tailor video projects to particular platforms and audiences. You will also bring to the job a good understanding of factors affecting online video, from copyright and data protection, to accessibility and Search Engine Optimisation.

Recent successful projects have included suites of videos about the university’s degree programmes and a vlog featuring content filmed by students. As video content producer, you will oversee future vlog content and play a key role in growing the vlogging channel as well as proposing and developing new areas of content.

The role also offers opportunities to collaborate with other Marketing professionals in our busy Marketing Department to promote your work, with the reward of seeing quick results as content is viewed, shared and liked online.

The University of West London has been shortlisted as University of the Year 2018, at the Times Higher Education Awards, and prides itself on its position as ‘The Career University’, with 98% of students entering employment or further study within 6 months of graduating. Coupled with new facilities and a diverse portfolio of courses, this makes the university an exciting and vibrant place to work.

Ealing, where the role is located, is excellently connected to other parts of London, with three tube lines and London overground services within 15 minutes’ walk, and access to Crossrail coming soon.

Interviews are scheduled to take place during week commencing 03 December 2018
