Applications are invited for the above post based in the Centre for 3D Design, Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham, University Park Campus.

The post holder will provide technical support to the undergraduate students of the department of Architecture in relation to the design and build of models. 

As part of a team, the post-holder will be responsible for 3D Printing, student supervision, machine maintenance/operation.

Duties will include:

Supporting the Rapid prototyping department which includes working directly with students in a customer services role. Meeting and offering advice to students on a regular basis, machine maintenance and operation, stock control and some budgetary administrationTaking an active role in the delivery of the facility’s annual training programSupervision of students while operating practical woodworking machinery and laser cuttersMaintaining a safe working environment in accordance with statutory & University Health & Safety procedures.

Candidates must have a minimum of HNC in a relevant subject, or equivalent qualifications plus considerable relevant experience or substantial work experience in a relevant role

Candidates are expected to have a good understanding of 3D Printing, CAD and practical timber machining. Working as part of a small team, in daily direct contact with students in a customer services style role, good communication skills and a positive outlook are essential in order to meet expected teaching requirements.

This full time position (36.25 hours per week) is available immediately and will be offered on a permanent contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
